Microsoft demos game across PC, mobile, and console platforms – CNET

Wow kids… not much there aside from ad hominem.

Is anyone going to answer the main question (”but it’s cool!” isn’t going to cut it, since we already agree on that point), or are insults all you have?

Now, to tidy up the rest:

“do you know that carriers would upgrade phones for FREE? I’m talking about companies. My company just switched to T-Mobile (cheap plans) and Tmobile paid $15,000 early cancellation penalty to Sprint. We have to pay nothing.”

You are apparently unaware that you’re going to pay that ETF off anyway, and then some – just that you won’t see it happen directly. Cell carriers aren’t charities after all, and you may want to read the fine print a bit more carefully. Your “cheap plans” will wind up costing you far more than you think (funny you should mention T-Mobile… we just left them late last year because of their rather evil overage schemes). You also fail to prove how this relates to smartphones, let alone any upcoming WinMo 7 ones. ;)

“if you build it, they will come”.

You mean like the Windows Tablets, Newton Message pads, Zunes, Windows ME, AppleTV, Dreamcast console, etc etc? Notice how I’m rather equal opportunity about this point, because the point is very simple: building something cute or novel doesn’t translate to sales success – especially if it has too many moving parts (like, well, this one, which requires that you buy/have an XBox, a Windows 7 box, and a WinMo 7 phone, then likely buy three separate purchases of that game – one for each platform (well, they may be nice about it, but likely not), etc…)
